Love The Grateful Dead? Check Out This Unique Tribute Night In Oxford
Published: January 18th, 2024

OXFORD - Dead to the Core, a tribute to The Grateful Dead, will perform at 6 On The Square in Oxford at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, January 20.

Dead to the Core is a collective of singer-songwriters and acoustic musicians, led by musician/author Jeffrey Pepper Rodgers, with a shared love of The Grateful Dead.

In intimate concerts, the musicians celebrate the band’s music not through note-for-note re-creations but by playing the songs their own way with creative arrangements featuring unexpected instrumental colors (clarinet, flute, Strumstick, mandolin, accordion and more) and lush vocal harmonies.

Interspersed with the music are clips from Rodgers’ own interviews with Jerry Garcia and Bob Weir in which they reflect on the roots and evolution of the music.

A Dead to the Core show is an experience unlike any other Grateful Dead tribute: a night of deeply personal performances that illuminate the masterful song craft of one of America’s most original bands.   Learn more online at jeffreypepperrodgers.com/dead-to-the-core.

Tickets for the Jan. 20 show are $20 pre-show or $25 at the door; purchase online at 6onthesquare.org or call 607-843-OTS6 (6876) to make a reservation. Doors open one hour before the start of the performance. The show also will be streamed live online for $10; more information at 6onthesquare.org.
