Promote Oxford Now Event Leader Jessica Henninge said, "We'll be hosting a homemade sled competition so get the family, or friends together and build your own sled from cardboard."

"We'll sled into the darkness and finish with fireworks, how cool? So don't forget your sleds," she said.

She said prizes will be given out for fastest, most creative, and furthest sled and only corrugated cardboard homemade sleds will be allowed in the competition. No sharp points or metal can be used.

She said you can use tape, glue, zip ties, and glitter to construct your sled and all racers must wear a helmet. Check in is at 3:15 with sled race start time at 4 p.m.

Concessions, hot cocoa, sledding, sled competition, snowman making, and fireworks at dark will provide outdoor fun and activities for all.

"In case of hazardous weather, a future snow date is scheduled for March 2nd," she added.
