ADIRONDACK – The Sherburne-Earlville girls’ basketball team traveled to Adirondack for a CSC league match-up, where they came away with the close 46-42 victory. S-E swept the two-game series against the Wildcats and picked up their 11th win overall. With just four regular season games remaining, S-E will wrap up a strong season for its five seniors.
It was a slow start for both teams in the first half with Adirondack taking a brief 22-18 lead at halftime. The two teams continued to battle it out in the third quarter, ending those eight minutes tied at 34 a piece. This outcome is only consistent to what S-E has seen most of the season, where they really had to work hard in the fourth quarter. Surely enough, S-E gave it their all and outscored Adirondack 12-8 to achieve the victory.
Hannah Todd-Rogers posted another double-double with a team-high 17 points and 15 rebounds. Most of her points came during that fourth quarter. Chesnee Miller added nine points, five rebounds and five assists as Alex Grzymkowski had all her seven points in the second half.
S-E (11-5) hosts Herkimer on Thursday, where they will honor their five seniors; Hannah Todd-Rogers, Alex Grzymkowski, Chesnee Miller, Abby Shaver, and Hailey Ramey. The game is scheduled for 7 p.m.
