NORWICH — Moi's Center City Bistro officially opens its doors at 11 a.m on Wednesday, January 31, located at 28 South Broad Street where the Wild Owl once served.
The new owners are Chad White and his daughter Marissa Ramsey and they look forward to welcoming old and new customers to their establishment.
“My dad works full time as a supervisor at Raymond and in 2021, he started working on the weekends in the kitchen of the Wild Owl,” said Ramsey. “His goal was to learn from the previous owner to one day open his own restaurant.”
“Once I graduated, my dad said if I wasn't going to go to college, I would have to get a job,” she said. “At Nineteen, I started at the Wild Owl and after about five months I became the manager and then this opportunity arrived and it's just perfect.”
Ramsey said they knew of the possibility that the Wild Owl was closing about 7 days before it did and they have been hustling every since to get everything in order.
She said they will keep the same menu and add a few new dishes such as a new mac and cheese, a new burger, a new chicken sandwich, and a few more items, but she said they don't want to do too much to start.
The new menu will be posted on their Facebook page.
“My dad is on a business trip this week, so it will just be me this week,” she added, “So be nice.”
The Wild Owl gift cards will be honored for 60 days and the last day to accept them will be March 30th. They will continue to do the scheduled Give Back days.
Ramsey said they are just going to stay in Norwich as trying to take over the Greene location would be too much.
“It sounds like someone may be taking over the Greene location in the future, so it can be up and running again,” she said. “ I haven't heard much about the closing, but the owner was hoping we would take this location over and keep people employed and the memory of the Wild Owl alive.
“I'm just super excited to see all of the faces I've been seeing and work with the customers and hear from them as to what else they would like to see on our menu,” Ramsey added.
She said they look forward to helping out and serving in the community.
Their new number is 607-373-4600 to call for reservations or to schedule delivery. Delivery orders will be taken over the phone but in the future they will switch over to online orders.
