Bowling: UV/Norwich Defeats Afton/Harpursville

BAINBRIDGE – Coming off back-to-back wins against Bainbridge-Guilford and Hancock, the Unadilla Valley Storm bowling team faced off against MAC opponent Afton/Harpursville on Tuesday. UV continued to excel as an entire team with both the boys and girls picking up the sweep.

The Storm boys, who have showed tremendous strength in the last few matches, out bowled the Crimson Knights 2706-2136. Dawson Robinson paved the way with a 598 series, where he bowled a 213 in his first game. Nate Rumovicz finished behind him with a 585 series and bowled the team’s highest game of the night with a 214 in his first game.

Afton/Harpursville’s Nick Farnham bowled a 475 series while Aidan Smith followed with a 460 series.

The UV girls swept the boards with an overall score of 2560-1781. Brynn Grant rolled a 566 series, including being consistent with a 184, 189, and tied with the team’s highest game of a 193. Arin Buchanan also bowled a 193 in her final game to finish with a 524 series.

Afton/Harpursville’s Gracie Bomboy led the Crimson Knights with a 496 series as Jaelin Brown bowled a 455 series.

UV/Norwich hosts Sidney on Friday at 3:45 p.m. and will round out the regular season against Deposit on Tuesday. Afton/Harpursville heads to Sidney on Thursday at 3:45 p.m. before concluding the regular season against Greene/Oxford on Friday afternoon.
