NEW BERLIN – Coming off a win against Oxford, the Unadilla Valley Storm girls’ basketball team returned back to the court on Wednesday to take on Harpursville. It was also senior night for the girls and the indoor track team. Congratulations to UV’s Jaiden Schrag, who represented both teams, Lilyannah Palmer, Kalie Fernandez-Naughton, Brandon Davenport, Bella Potter, and Lucas Donato.
UV celebrated its seniors well with a 31-point 53-22 victory against the Hornets.
UV kicked off a strong start with the help of senior Schrag, who had 11 of the team’s 13 points in the first quarter alone. She finished her special night with 22 points, including shooting four free-throws, and she also had eight steals to lead a heavy-pressured defense. UV had full control in the second half as they shutout Harpursville in the entire third quarter and went on a 23-0 run before the Hornets scored in the fourth quarter.
Natalie Crandall recorded a double-double for the Storm as she fired in 15 points and had 11 rebounds. She helped UV’s big run with 10 points in the third quarter. Myriah Taylor finished with six points while Kora Johnson and Adrienne Hodge both added four points. Emmalyn Montgomery contributed with two points in the win.
UV (5-11) remains in third place in the MAC division II with a 3-2 divisional record. The Storm heads to Oxford on Friday at 7:15 p.m.
