The Norwich Boys Swim Team Hosts Windsor In Final Home Meet Of Season

NORWICH – On Tuesday, January 30, the Norwich boys varsity swim team had their last home meet of the season with Windsor High School. The final score of the meet was Windsor 74 Norwich 39. During the meet, the Norwich boys posted seven personal best times (PB) as the team gets ready for sectionals on February 14.

Leading the way for Norwich was junior Kristopher Deuel with first place finishes in the 200 free with a 2:01.54 (PB), the 500 free with a 5:37.05, and the 400 free relay with a 58.04 split (PB). Next was sophomore Nate Shtrauch with first in the 100 backstroke with a (PB) time of 1:05.67, first in the 400 free relay and a second place finish in the 200 individual medley with a (PB) time of 2:27.04. Freshman Amon Oliver was second in the 100 backstroke with a time of 1:17.33 while also second in the 50 free with a time of 28.96, and a member of the 400 free relay with a split time of 1:03.79. Freshmen Sharom Thinagaran had (PB) times with a fifth place finish in the 50 free with a 36.85 and in the winning 400 free relay with a 1:24.29 split. The Norwich team travels to Waverly on Friday night for one of their last two dual meets before sectionals.
