SHERBURNE – The Sherburne-Earlville boys basketball team stayed home on Wednesday evening to take on CSC league opponent Mount Markham in a rescheduled game. S-E hoped to have a better game against the Mustangs on their home court this time after a loss in their first meeting. However, Mount Markham showed their power early on and swept the league series with a 64-39 victory.
S-E was slowed down in the first three quarters before having a better chance in the final eight minutes of play. S-E saw the most strength from their bench with Brayden O’Hara’s team-leading 11 points. Avery Parsons followed with seven points as Isaac Porchea, Darren Miles, and Garret Winton were all held to just five points.
S-E (5-10) is currently fourth in the CSC division I with five games remaining, where they are hopeful to get closer to an even record, despite tough contests ahead. They welcome non-league opponent Richfield Springs this evening at 7 p.m.
