NORWICH — The Chenango SPCA will be hosting the 18th annual Fur Ball from 7 to 11 p.m. on Saturday, February 10 at the Canasawacta Country Club in Norwich, and registration for the fundraiser ends at 2 p.m. on Thursday, January 8.
Tickets are $50 per person, or $350 for a table of eight, and can be purchased online at secure.qgiv.com/for/furball2024/event/furball2024, at the shelter, or by calling the SPCA office at 607-334-9724.
Chenango SPCA Executive Director Patrick McLaughlin said the Fur Ball is their largest fundraising event of the year, and proceeds support the care of the animals at the shelter. In addition to helping animals, attendees can also expect a fun evening filled with music, food, a silent auction, and more.
The event will kick off at 7 p.m. with music by local musician Grady Thompson, and popular local band Crushing Midnight will take over at 8 p.m.
Hors d'oeuvres will be served, as well as a complimentary champagne toast for attendees over the age of 21, and cocktails will be available for purchase.
Visitors can also try their luck at the silent auction, which will include a variety of donated items, gift cards, and baskets from local businesses and organizations.
McLaughlin said the fundraiser is also a fun way for supporters to get dressed up and celebrate Valentine's Day, while also supporting a good cause.
"The food at the country club is great, the music is great. There’s a complimentary champagne toast for people over 21, and it’s a fun evening," he said. "It’s a Valentine’s Day themed thing, so it’s a great opportunity for couples to come and have fun, and to have the confidence that the fun evening they’re having is really supporting a fantastic cause."
