SOUTH OTSELIC – The Otselic Valley Lady Vikings returned home on Monday to face Cincinnatus in the final regular season home game. The Vikings also honored its seniors prior to the game. Congratulations to Cameron Bartlett and Madison Bartlett from the girls’ basketball team, as well as OV student and Sherburne-Earlville volleyball player Kali Waltz.
The Vikings kept up with the Red Lions the best that they could in the 35-23 deficit. OV’s best efforts came in the first quarter with taking a brief one-point 9-8 lead at the start. However, Cincinnatus took control and limited the Vikings from making any big moves offensively. OV’s defense was strong in the fourth quarter, holding the Red Lions to four points, but couldn’t get anything going on the boards themselves.
Miranda Hackett, who averages 9.7 points per game, led OV with eight points and also added seven steals and five rebounds. Riley Barlett finished behind her with six points and eight rebounds to match her sister Cameron, who scored four points.
