CHAUMONT – On Tuesday, the Otselic Valley boys basketball team made a two-hour trip to take on non-league opponent Lyme. It was the final game of the regular season, where the Vikings picked up their second win in a row with a 55-47 victory. OV had won four of their last six games to finish 7-13.
OV had a solid start and took a 27-21 lead at halftime. They kept their small-margin lead throughout the second half, where the Vikings did not slow down, even with the Lakers threatening late in the contest. While Lyme was heavy on the offensive rebounding, OV stood their ground and capitalized themselves with a steady offense.
After setting the school’s all-time scoring record in Friday’s win over Stockbridge-Valley, Braeden Davis paved the way with 29 points and hit five three’s. Davis scored 42 points in Friday’s game and passed alum Amber Meigs (1,723) for the Vikings’ all-time scoring record.
Caleb Loomis had 10 points in Tuesday’s win over Lyme as Lukas Schieferstein followed with seven points and added six rebounds. Cole Warren was aggressive in rebounding with a team-high 11 on the night and had five points. Owen Davis rounded out the scoring with four points.
OV (7-13) will await further word on any additional games with the Section III tournament seeding meeting taking place this Saturday.
