Girls’ Basketball: S-E Makes A Big Comeback Vs Clinton

CLINTON – The Sherburne-Earlville girls’ basketball team concluded its 2023-2024 regular season on Thursday night in Clinton and now awaits sectionals after finishing in second place in the CSC division I league. S-E came back from an 11-point deficit to win 54-41 against the Comets. S-E finished the regular season with a 13-7 record.

S-E’s best efforts of the evening came in the fourth quarter with scoring a dominant 28 points and outscored Clinton by 16 (28-12). The fourth quarter was led by four of the five seniors with Hannah Todd-Rogers, Alex Grzymkowski, Chesnee Miller, and Abby Shaver coming together to secure the win.

Hannah Todd-Rogers led S-E with 17 points and eight rebounds while Miller set up 12 points with five rebounds and five assists. Grzymkowski added 10 points with five rebounds as junior Alyse Brown scored seven points and led the team with 13 rebounds.

S-E now awaits a playoff match-up with the Section III seeding meeting on Saturday.
