NEW BERLIN – On Monday, the Unadilla Valley Storm community came out to celebrate one of their own in the high school auditorium as senior Brynn Grant signed her college letter of intent to bowl for Niagara University. Grant is also the first UV student to sign directly to a D1 school on a scholarship straight from high school. Grant also was a two-sport athlete for the Storm, suiting up for both girls’ soccer, where she split time in net and on the field and she scored a goal on senior day, and bowling. The Storm girls’ bowling team has won four straight MAC league titles.
Grant, who led the MAC girls and Section IV with a 195.6 average this year, will get to keep the purple and white UV colors as Niagara University also sports the same colors. Grant has had the pleasure of visiting the campus, which is roughly two and a half hours away, three times, where she already considers it a perfect fit. She also loves that they offer a teaching program, where Grant has aspirations of becoming a history teacher after her studies.
Grant also appreciates her time spent at UV and on both the soccer and bowling teams.
“Bonds on teams outweigh everything no matter what happens off the court/field,” Grant said on what she’ll take from her time at UV.
Congratulations and best of luck, Brynn.
