CHENANGO COUNTY — The first day of spring is right around the corner, on March 19, but some of us officially put a spring in our step when we move clocks one hour ahead at 2 a.m., on Sunday, March 10.
The convenience of owning a cell phone with the automatic time update is fantastic, yet this has proven it's nearly impossible for employees to show up late for work. The old “I forgot to set my clock ahead” just doesn't cut it when modern technology automatically renders down that situation.
And what about the microwave, stove, free-standing clocks, and vehicle clocks? It does take a few extra minutes to ensure every clock is changed. Not a difficult problem, but occasionally, it’s been the cause of grump-itis amongst those that are the official clock changers.
