SHERBURNE – Gilligan’s Restaurant in Sherburne is hosting a giveback night benefiting Trout Unlimited Chenango Valley Chapter 209 this Wednesday, March 27 from 4 to 8 p.m.
A portion of all sales at Gilligan’s will be donated to the Chenango Valley Chapter of Trout Unlimited. Chenango Valley TU is dedicated to education, community, and conservation of our rivers and streams so our children can experience the joy of wild and native trout and salmon.
Some of the chapter’s current initiatives include the Trout in the Classroom programs, now active in Oxford and Sherburne school districts, trout stocking with the NYS Department of Environmental Conservation, hosting the Women’s Free Flyfishing Seminar in Otselic, sponsoring the annual NYS Trout Waters Youth Fishing Camp, stream and river cleanups, and more. Meetings for the Chenango Valley TU are held the third Thursday of every month at 7 p.m. at Taylor’s Country House in Norwich.
