NORWICH — Meet the Easter Bunny and search for eggs at the annual downtown Norwich Easter egg hunt on Saturday, March 30, sponsored by the Maydole Hose Company and the Norwich Business Improvement District (BID).

The egg hunt is open to kids across Chenango County, with children up to age four beginning their search in West Park at 10 a.m., and children from ages five to eight searching in East Park at 10:30 a.m., rain or shine.

Over 5,000 eggs containing candy and prizes will be hidden in the parks by members of the Maydole Hose Co. Two eggs will contain vouchers for the grand prize: a free bicycle.

All participating children must be accompanied by an adult, bring their own basket, and be on the sidewalk surrounding the park ready to begin the search at the scheduled time. Maydole Hose Co. President Pat Ford said once the hunt begins, it doesn't take long for all the eggs to be snapped up.

"I timed it last year and it was just under four minutes. It was all picked up," he said. "They go nutty. They really get out there."

In addition to the egg hunt, visiting children will also have the chance to meet the Easter Bunny and take photos.
