EARLVILLE - In celebration of National Women’s History Month, Earlville Opera House is pleased to host Lauren Mettler in our 1892 National Landmark Theater at 1 p.m., Saturday, March 30.

This Main Stage event is FREE and open to the public and will also be livestreamed at www.facebook.com/themptf 

Lauren will be performing a collection of songs written by women singer-songwriters who have inspired and influenced her own writing, as well as selections from her original repertoire. Lauren has chosen to share songs in this intimate set that display an array of themes, but are all gems of feminine tenderness, rich in their nuanced sensitivity and raw emotion. Listeners can clearly see and appreciate the gentle strength in the insightful words of the women songwriters and recognize that courage and vulnerability are two sides of the same coin. 

Hailing from the hills of Sherburne, New York, Lauren Mettler grew up singing and playing music with her parents who played professionally when she was a child. She played in bands with her siblings and friends throughout her childhood and young adult life. She has since devoted herself to her solo songwriting craft. She learned originally to play music on the guitar, and has picked up the banjo, mandolin, and uke along the way. She loves to whistle and can play some Irish penny whistle to top it off! 

Lauren bears a unique and earthy style of songwriting that enchants listeners with beautiful images and thought-provoking lyrics, she paints worlds which evoke nostalgia, empathy, and courage. Lauren’s original music ranges in style from folk alternative to jazz classics, to winsome ballads, and all delivered with a melodious, articulate voice. 

This show is free for all and is generously sponsored by The Music Performance Trust Fund, The American Federation of Musicians Local 380-433, and Concerted Works in honor of National Women’s History Month. 

EOH’s Artisan Gift Shop and three galleries will be open. Gallery visits are always free and open to the public with support from Golden Artist Colors, Inc.

Earlville Opera House Arts Center is located at 18 East Main Street in the quaint Village of Earlville, NY. At EOH we believe accessibility and inclusion are critical to everything we do. Our historic Opera House has been upgraded to ensure accessibility throughout the building, including a hearing loop system in our 1892 theater provided by Hamilton Hearing LLC.
