NORWICH — The Easter Bunny hopped through Norwich on Saturday, March 30 for the annual Easter Egg hunt, sponsored by the Maydole Hose Company and the Norwich Business Improvement District (BID).

Despite the chilly weather, children from all over Chenango County visited East and West Park to hunt for the 5,000 eggs hidden between the two parks.

Kids up to 4 years old kicked off the event with an egg hunt in East Park, followed by children aged 5 to 8 in East Park. Participants in each park were also searching for a special egg containing a certificate for a free bicycle.

"We give away bikes every year. One of the eggs has a little certificate in there that you bring to the announcer if you get the certificate. So make sure you open the eggs before you go home, because we want to award that bike here today," said Maydole Hose Co. President Pat Ford.

The bicycle for the 4 years old and under age group was claimed, but a winner has not yet claimed the bike for the 5 to 8 age group. If you found a certificate in an egg after the egg hunt, contact Ford at 607-316-3489 to claim your prize.
