NORWICH — Who killed Mr. Boddy? Enjoy the classic comedy whodunnit this weekend at the Chenango Arts Council's Martin Kappel Theater, located at 27 West Main Street in Norwich.
"Clue," written by Sandy Rustin, follows the adventure of Wadsworth, the butler; Miss Scarlet; Professor Plum; Mrs. White; Mr. Green; Mrs. Peacock; and Colonel Mustard as they "assemble for an unusual dinner party where murder and blackmail are on the menu. When their host turns up dead, they all become suspects."
The play is based on the iconic 1985 Paramount movie, which was inspired by Hasbro's "Clue" board game. Show times are 7 p.m. on Friday, April 5 and Saturday, April 6, and 2 p.m. on Sunday, April 7.
"The play is very much like the movie in a lot of ways. It’s not exact, and of course we put our own spin on things," said "Clue" Director and Norwich Theater Company President Marty Kuhn. "This is a little different than some of our other shows in that it is one act. It will run about an hour and a half, and so it just keeps that whole string of events together, much like the movie does."
"It’s fun. It’s a lot of running back and forth. It’s startles here and there. A lot of comedy, a lot of slapstick comedy. There are some gunshots that are heard."
