CONKLIN – After a good start to the season against Greene, the Bainbridge-Guilford Bobcats baseball team headed to take on non-league opponent Sus Valley on Monday. B-G continued to see sparks from their lineup, but fell 10-4.
B-G was off to a 2-0 start in the first inning as Connor Davy got a hold of a deep ball to left field on the second pitch he saw. With Julian Pruskowski on base, Davy hit a two-run homer, his third home run of the season in just two games played. Davy and Pruskowski both went 3-for-4 at the plate.
However, Sus Valley took a big leap off Pruskowski and the Bobcats’ defense as they scored seven runs in the bottom of the first. The Sabers added on to go up 8-2 after the second inning and both teams drove in a run in the third. Kaiden Seymour notched an RBI single to drive in Isaiah Hampton in a 9-3 ballgame.
Both teams scored a run in their final at-bats. For B-G, Timmy Kinter hit a two-out RBI single after pitching a solid sixth inning. Pruskowski and Kinter combined with four strikeouts on the mound in the loss.
