NEW BERLIN — The Golden Foundation for the Arts will be hosting an opening reception for their 11th annual Made in Paint exhibition on April 13 from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. in the Sam and Adele Golden Gallery at Golden Artist Colors, located at 188 Bell Road in New Berlin.
The gallery features the works of 18 artists who attended the foundation's residency program in 2023. The artists include Debra Weisberg, Emma Roche, Joy Gerrard, Haoyun Erin Zhao, Jan Dickey, Susan Hoffer, Dina Abdulkarim, Genna Howard, Carol Prusa, Emily Gherard, Jamele Wright, Sr., Perky Edgerton, Natasha Campbell, Deborah Zlotsky, Lynne McDaniel, Miguel Arzabe, Laura Colomb, and Alisa Sikelianos-Carter.
The gallery will also be open for viewing during regular business hours, Monday through Friday, until June 21.
The artists spent four weeks in the Golden Foundation's residency program, living in a renovated barn across the street from Golden Artist Colors and creating art in their own studio space.
Golden Foundation for the Arts Executive Director Emma Golden describes the residency as a time for artists to play with new materials and experiment with their art.
"They have access to all of the paint that we make and also the Material and Applications team here at the company, they get to work with them individually and as a group to talk materials," she explained.
