OXFORD – The Bainbridge-Guilford Bobcats and the Oxford Blackhawks baseball team squared off for a local county and league match-up on Monday afternoon. B-G, showing success against the MAC league to start the season, racked up 25 runs on 17 hits to win 25-3.
Connor Davy, who has been powerful at the plate for the Bobcats, drilled two homers against Blackhawks’ pitchers, including a grand slam that bounced off a high school window in the top of the fourth inning. Davy also drove in a team-high eight runs on the night and now has four home-runs in just three games played. Davy, Kaiden Seymour, Gavin Gifford, Tim Kinter all collected three hits each as Aiden Haynes went 2-for-2.
Oxford added two runs in the third inning and one in the fourth. The Blackhawks plated two in the third off an error by the Bobcats defense during Conner Dunagan’s at-bat before the final run came in the fourth on a steal. Degan Endress also added a two-out double in the fifth inning, but failed to score.
