OXFORD – The Bainbridge-Guilford Bobcats softball team took on county and league opponent Oxford on Tuesday afternoon.
It was the Bobcats first game of the season while Oxford came off a big win against Harpursville. B-G’s bats were fiery in this match-up as they won 13-2, notching 15 hits on the day.
Gabby Cuozzo and Lily Marshman, who went the distance, took the mounds for their respective teams. Cuozzo went four and two-thirds, allowing one hit and struck out six to draw her first win of the season. Brenna George and Railey Odell pitched in relief for the Bobcats, where both added two strikeouts each.
Jayslin Henderson led the Bobcats with three hits as George and Tori Suda added two hits each. Alessandra Cafasso’s lone hit was a deep ball to left field in the top of the sixth inning for a three-run homer. B-G plated 13 unanswered runs, including four in the second and five in the sixth inning.
