DELHI – The Greene Trojans baseball team traveled to Delhi on Tuesday afternoon to start a three-game road trip. Greene held a 5-0 lead, but Delhi scrounged up eight unearned runs in both the fifth and sixth innings to win 8-5.
Greene took an early 2-0 lead after a scoreless first inning. Carter Williamson drew a one-out walk and was in scoring position as Lincoln Youngs drilled a double to center field. Colin Colgan walked to load the bases for Trent Drew. Drew grounded in to a fielder’s choice that brought in Williamson and Youngs on an error.
The Trojans added on in the top of the fifth as Tristan Donnelly started off with a bunt single and reached second on an error. He moved to third on a sacrifice play by teammate Jackson Roth and scored on an RBI double by Parker Flanagan. Ryan Milk, who went 2-for-3 on the day, smacked a double to center to bring in Flanagan. Lincoln Youngs added his second hit of the night with a single to drive in Milk.
Delhi added two in the bottom half of the inning off Parker Flanagan. The Bulldogs then took the lead with six runs in the sixth, which Greene could not answer back in their final-at bats.
