AFTON – Coming off an even series in Cortland, the Afton Crimson Knights baseball team took on a tough Unatego/Franklin team. The Crimson Knights fell 3-0 to the Spartans and were held hitless, which is unusual with a great lineup these past few games. Afton did reach base once as Landon James walked to start the bottom of the third inning.

While the offense struggled, Afton’s Ryan Wright was dominate on the mound, giving up the three runs, two earned, on three hits, walked three, but struck out 13 batters in five and a third innings. Justin Reeves finished off the game in relief, only allowing three hits and added on to the strikeout total with three of his own.

Afton (2-2) heads to Harpursville on Thursday at 4:30 p.m. and looks to sweep the two-game series.
