BAINBRIDGE – The Bainbridge-Guilford Bobcats baseball team hosted local Afton on Wednesday afternoon. Both teams came into this match-up with solid playing all around. With that being said, this MAC league match-up went into extra innings of scoreless game with each pitcher dueling. Afton scored six in the top of the eighth inning to pick up their fifth win of the season.
Afton was held to one hit through five innings with Julian Pruskowski on the mound. He would exit and Kaiden Seymour and Austin Felzak finished the job. All three pitchers combined with 13 strikeouts.
However, Afton went to work in the eighth with error and two consecutive walks to load the bases and then a walk to drive in a run. With the bases still loaded, Ryan Wright crushed a grand slam. The Crimson Knights scored its sixth and final run off an error.
Justin Reeves pitched a complete game for the Crimson Knights, going all eight innings and pitched one-hit ball, walked four batters, and struck out 13. B-G’s lone hit came from Parker Buttice in the bottom of the third inning.
