SIDNEY – Coming off a big shutout win against Harpursville, the Bainbridge-Guilford Bobcats baseball team hit the road to take on Sidney on Monday afternoon. B-G picked up their fifth win of the season in an 8-2 victory. B-G sits in fourth place in the MAC league with a 4-2 league record and a 5-3 overall record to start the first month of the season.
Both teams added one run in the first inning before Sidney went ahead 2-1 in the second, but that was it for the Sabers. B-G had a big five-run third inning capped off by three walks to start the inning before one run came in on a wild pitch, one on an error, another off a wild pitch, and two balks by the opposing pitcher scored two runs. Damon Seymour hit an RBI double in the fourth inning to extend the lead before as an error plated B-G’s final run in the seventh inning.
Connor Davy led the Bobcats at the plate with two hits with Damon Seymour, Kaiden Seymour, and Parker Buttice all collected one hit each. Buttice also had an RBI on a groundout in the third inning.
Kaiden Seymour and Brayden Swartwout split time on the mound with Swartwout allowing the two unearned runs in his inning and a third off two hits, one walk, and a strikeout. Seymour finished five and two thirds innings in relief, allowing four hits, a walk, and struck out eight batters.
