CHENANGO COUNTY — There will be two Drug Take Back Day locations available on Saturday, April 27 where area residents can turn in their expired or unused over-the-counter, prescription, and pet medications, no questions asked.
One site will be located at the Bainbridge Firehouse, located at 22 West Main Street in Bainbridge from 9 a.m. to noon. Only medications may be dropped off; no syringes will be accepted.
The other will be in Norwich's East Park near the stage from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Chenango Health Network Community Health Worker and Drug Free Community Coordinator Jessica Colley said residents can walk, ride a bike, or drive through East Park Place to drop off medications and syringes.
A Norwich Police Department officer will be there to collect the items, which will be placed into a sealed box. At the end of the Drug Take Back Day, the Chenango County Sheriff's Department will pick up the boxes and take them to be incinerated.
