OLD FORGE – The Otselic Valley-Cincinnatus baseball team headed to Old Forge on Friday afternoon, where they faced non-league opponent Town of Webb. The Vikings earned their first win of the season with a big 18-2 victory. OV-C notched 18 runs off an impressive 14 hits to round out a great day all around.
The Vikings got on the board with three runs in the first and added on in the second to go up 7-0 before Webb answered back with their only two runs off Troy Miller, who otherwise pitched a solid game. OV-C scored two more runs in the third inning before finishing off with eight in their final at-bats.
Seniors Braeden Davis and Cole Warren had themselves a strong day at the plate with both collecting three hits each and combining for nine RBIs. Miller, Caleb Loomis, Hunter Rozewski, and Lukas Scheiferstein all added two hits each with Loomis and Schieferstein both driving in three runs.
Miller and Loomis split time on the mound for the Vikings. Miller went four innings, allowing just the two runs on three hits, walked one, and struck out three batters. Loomis pitched a clean inning in relief, striking out two batters.
