SOUTH NEW BERLIN — Have you ever wondered how find a buried potato or how to tie a quick release knot? Wonder no longer, as the Ribbon Wranglers 4-H group will host an educational event that includes finding spuds and how to quickly get out of a knotty situation.

The 4-H event will take place from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., Sunday, May 5, at Meadow Brook Farm, located at 149 Cut Off Road in South New Berlin.

“The Ribbon Wranglers 4-H club are involved in many agriculture events and show animals at the fair,” said 4-H Co-Leader and Owner of Meadow Brook Farm, Beverly Lenz-Fagan.

“At the 4-H event on Sunday, the club will have dirt filled bins with potatoes buried in them,” said Lenz-Fagan. “They will demonstrate how to dig up the potatoes.”

“Another educational moment will be on the quick release knot,” she said. “This is when you're tying up an animal and you want it to stay put, but something happens. If the animal falls or it fights you, and it needs to be let go, you just pull and release the knot so it will be safe again.”

She said they are also having a bake sale with 4-H youth participation. They will learn to count money while working the sale. All funds raised go to the club.
