OXFORD – On May 1, two Town of Oxford residents were arrested by the Chenango County Sheriff’s Office and charged with a number of crimes including drug and weapon charges.
Johnathon W. Loomis, 34, and Brionna J. Anzano, 27, both of the Town of Oxford, are charged with three counts of third degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, B Class felonies, and one count of first degree criminal nuisance, an E Class felony.
They are also charged with a number of misdemeanors: three counts of second degree criminally using drug paraphernalia, one count of endangering the welfare of a child, and two counts of seventh degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.
Loomis was also charged with two counts of fourth degree criminal possession of a weapon, misdemeanors, and violating his parole.
Anzano is also charged with second degree reckless endangerment, a misdemeanor.
The sheriff’s office assisted members of New York State Parole while they conducted a search of Loomis’s home in Oxford.
During the investigation large quantities of numerous controlled substances, packing material, a scale, suspected proceeds from drug sales, and other items indicative of the sale/distribution of controlled substances were located inside the residence.
Officers found several juveniles present at the residence and that were in close proximity while controlled substances were being ingested.
Following the arrests Anzano was released on an appearance ticket and is to appear in the Town of Oxford Court at a later date.
Loomis was held at the Chenango County Correctional Facility pending an appearance in Chenango County Court for an issued violation of parole warrant, reported the Sheriff's Office.
All crimes described are allegations, and suspects named are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
