SOUTH OTSELIC – The Otselic Valley-Cincinnatus Vikings baseball team honored its senior class prior to Thursday’s match-up against Stockbridge Valley. Congratulations to Cole Warren, Braeden Davis, and Manuel Gonzalez-Lantaron, who is a foreign exchange student from Spain. OV-C put up a good fight for the special night, but fell 5-3. The Vikings now sit at 4-6 on the season with three regular season games remaining.
Stockbridge got on the board in the first inning as the lead-off batter got a base hit to start the inning and scored on a few mishaps by the Vikings defense. Braeden Davis bounced back with a couple of strikeouts on the mound before a groundout play.
OV-C had a great chance to tie the game in the bottom of the third inning as Oliver Marshall notched their first hit of the game and Cole Warren was hit by the pitch. An error moved them in scoring position, which Marshall intended to score, but was called out and Warren was jammed up trying to advance himself. Avram Moses added a single to left field, but Manuel Gonzalez-Lantaron, who reached on a fielder’s choice and was on third base, failed to score as Caleb Loomis grounded out.
