WINDSOR – Coming off the REK Invite, the Norwich Purple Tornado track and field team traveled to Windsor in a league dual meet on Tuesday. Norwich came away with the overall team win with the girls’ earning the 84-12 victory and the boys’, who won the REK last weekend, won 79-41.
Girls:
Reagan Decker kicked off the girls’ meet with a first place finish in the 100 meter hurdles with a new personal best time of 20.40 seconds. She also finished second in the triple jump with a jump of 28 feet, five inches behind teammate’s Emma Urgo’s top 31-7. Decker took third in the long jump (13-0.75) behind Urgo and Josey Ryan. Urgo earned the victory in the high jump with a jump of four feet, eight inches.
Josey Ryan took both wins in the 100 meter dash and the 200 meter dash. She ran the 100 meter dash with a time of 13.59 seconds and the 200 meter dash with a time of 29.61 seconds. Brynley Ryan finished second in the 100 meter dash with a new best time of 13.67 as Layla Root came in third place (14.14).
