BAINBRIDGE – After falling to Sidney for a chance at the MAC softball title, the Bainbridge-Guilford Bobcats softball team bounced back with a 8-0 shutout victory against Unatego in the consolation game. B-G scored eight runs on 11 hits and improved to 14-2 on the season.
The Bobcats got on the board in the first inning with Danica Park’s two-run double as Tori Suda, who led the team with three hits, drilled a two-run home run in the bottom of the second to extend the lead. Alessandra Cafasso also smacked a solo shot to center field to led-off the bottom of the third inning. B-G plated three final runs in the fifth inning as Madisyn Peck got a piece of the action with a pinch-hit 2-RBI double as Suda drove in her third run of the game with a infield single.
Gabby Cuozzo pitched six strong innings, allowing three hits, walked none, and struck out 10 batters. Railey O’dell closed out the game in the seventh, just allowing two hits, no walks, and struck out two batters in the win.
