OXFORD – The Oxford Blackhawks baseball team has faced their opponent Harpursville three times this season with all games resulting in wins. Thursday’s win was a tight game, which the Blackhawks won 9-8 in what could be their final game of the season. Oxford picked up three wins against the Hornets and one close win against Sherburne-Earlville to hold a record of 4-8 in 2024.
Harpursville got on the board in the first, but Oxford was quick to answer back and went ahead 2-1 after that. Conner Dunagan led the bottom half of the inning with a single to center field and scored on Degan Endress’ hard single to center on the next at-bat. Nic Dodzweit hit a sacrifice fly that allowed Endress to tag up and score.
