CLINTON – After picking up the shutout win over Herkimer, the Sherburne-Earlville softball team headed to Clinton on Tuesday afternoon, where they came home with a big 23-1 victory, which was their ninth of the season. S-E had four big scoring innings, including a five-run second inning off no hits and a big 13-run third inning before two final runs in the fifth.
The big 13-run fifth inning was led by Kadyn Babcock, who reached base on an error, went to second on a passed ball, stole third, and scored on Chesnee Miller’s RBI single. Lydia Larchar reached on a bunt single and stole second during Autumn Miller’s at-bat. Chesnee scored on a passed ball before Larchar and Autumn came in on an error. Haleigh Fisher, who continues to be phenomenal on the mound and at the plate, drove home a run on a single to center, followed by Emily Lawrence who drove Fisher in with an RBI single. Lawrence and Fisher brought in another run each in the bat-around inning. Lawrence led the team with four hits and five RBIs. Emilee Bennett had three RBIs while Fisher drove in two runs as Chesnee Miller, Autumn Miller, and Reagan Krueger each had one RBI. More runs would come in on defensive errors in the fifth along with a walk to load the bases and another walk drove in a run as well.
