NORWICH — The Chenango County Area Agency on Aging is celebrating 50 years of serving the community, with New York Connects, and invites all to join in the festivities from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Tuesday, May 21, in West Park. Rain or Shine.
“We’re super excited to celebrate 50 years in the community and we have hours of activities, information and entertainment planned,” said Area Agency on Aging Director Heather Felter.
“Our theme is ‘Memory Lane’ and we’ll have many nostalgic things going on, including some classic cars,” said Felter. “W. Park Place will be shut down during the celebration.”
She said the biggest thing they want to celebrate is their service with the community, but also want to celebrate the seniors and want them to come out and be a part of the celebration.
“A lot of the community has come together for this and we're hoping for a large turnout,” she added.
Felter said tents, tables, and chairs will be set up with extra empty tables, in case someone wants to be part of it at the last minute.
She said there will be informational activities and Chenango County stories will be shared by the Historical Society Historian Henry Drexel. Anyone in attendance is welcome to share additional stories.
