Chenango County Sheriff Shares Details Of Case After Catch And Release Of Suspect Wanted By Court

CHENANGO COUNTY — A man wanted on a number of warrants, with an alleged history of failing to appear in court, was arrested by the Chenango County Sheriff's Office and then released without bail following a court appearance, prompting the Chenango County Sheriff's Office to issue the following information about the case.

Chenango County Sheriff Ernest Cutting Jr. reported that members of the office arrested Nicholas Harrington on four active warrants and an additional open case relating to felony grand larceny.

The office reported, “On May 29, 2024, Nicholas Harrington, AKA Nickolas Watson, AKA Georgia, age 21, homeless, was arrested by the Chenango County Sheriff’s Office Detectives' Division.

“On December 7, 2023, Nicholas had his first warrant, a Bench Warrant issued out of the Town of Norwich Court for Forgery, which is a felony for his failure to appear for three separate court dates. (Bailable warrant with a bail recommendation from the issuing court.)

“On January 6, 2024, an Arrest Warrant was issued for Nicholas out of the Town of Plymouth Court, after Nicholas was the operator of a vehicle, and lied about who he was during the accident investigation. (Not a bailable incident.)
