NORWICH — The Chenango County Dairy Day was celebrated in dairy ag style on Saturday, June 15, at the Norwich Fairgrounds.
It was a sunny day filled with local residents and visitors participating in fake cow milking, a pedal tractor pull, farm animal petting zoo, hay bale mazes, dairy education and more.
Farm equipment and tractors were on display along with a milk truck parked near the entrance. Children climbed up into the truck seat and eagerly honked the horn.
Assemblyman Joe Angelino was there said he spent a good part of is day at the fairgrounds along with Jeff Blanchard, Pitcher Town Supervisor and Chairman of the Board of Supervisors for Chenango County and
Angelino thanked volunteer Karen Hoffman and the Dairy Day committee for the quality of the event and bringing awareness to agriculture.
Blanchard said this years weather was just beautiful and it brought in high attendance.
“All the kids seems to be enjoying themselves and great work by the committee,” he said.
Town of Otselic Supervisor and Dairy Day Board Member Marjorie Davis also attended the event.
Davis recently said the most important aspects of Dairy Day are bringing awareness and appreciation of agriculture to the people in the county.
