ONEONTA – After a tough game on Sunday, the Norwich Post #189 Legion team looked to regroup against Oneonta on Monday evening. Norwich stayed with Oneonta and batted well with solid pitching, but fell 4-2.

Norwich started off strong with an RBI single from Kaden Downey, coming off a home run in the previous game. However, Oneonta tied and went ahead 3-1 in the bottom of the first inning. An error scored two runs and then an RBI double. Oneonta scored on final run in the bottom of the sixth inning.

Norwich cut the deficit to one in the top of the third inning as Jackson Sastri scored on a passed ball. Aside from Downey and Sastri, Collin Reid, Zac Turner, Owen Olds, Joey Parker, and Zack Parker all had base hits. Zack Parker also stole two bases.

Braden Reid had a solid outing on the mound, going six innings, allowing four unearned runs on just two hits, two walks, and struck out five batters.
