This week, Commerce Chenango would like to highlight Patocka’s Gastropub in Greene. Patocka’s opened in the Winter of 2022 by Dr. Gary Parker and Alexandra Howe, owners who are excited to join the community.

Operating hours are Monday and Wednesday through Saturday from 4 pm to 9 pm. Patocka’s is closed on Tuesdays and Sundays. Beginning July 14th, Patocka's will open for lunch on Saturdays at 12 p.m. The restaurant is in the heart of downtown Greene, and Parker states: “We blend the cozy atmosphere of a local pub with the flair of gourmet dining. Our menu, inspired by local ingredients and beyond and we offer wide a range of dishes from classic favorites to innovative culinary creations. Whether you're here to relax after work, celebrate a special occasion, or enjoy a meal with loved ones, Patocka's Gastropub is always the place to be.”

Story Continues Below Adverts

Over the past year, Patocka’s has expanded their menu and has added an outdoor seating area. The restaurant is now a viable venue for events. Parker claims, “Whether it's casual dining, special occasions, or corporate events, our new outdoor area provides a versatile and inviting environment. These improvements have led to a 20% increase in our customer base.” Since the addition of their outdoor space, Patocka’s has hosted over 50 events.

Patocka’s plans to expand further, implementing a digital reservation and ordering system that will streamline operations and reduce wait times. Patocka’s has already seen an increase in online engagement. Data provided by the restaurant states, “Our digital presence has grown with a 50% increase in followers on social media platforms, enhanced by regular updates on menu specials, events, and behind-the-scenes content. The restaurant also wishes to expand their catering services.

Parker appreciates the feedback he receives: “…whether positive, negative, or indifferent… this diverse input has driven continuous improvement and innovation, ensuring that we remain responsive and relevant to our community's needs and aspirations. By valuing every piece of feedback, we've built a culture of inclusivity and adaptability, which is at the heart of our success and growth.” Parker also attributes the small community setting to Patocka’s identity and ability to thrive.

Patocka’s has 12 local employees, including an in-house pastry chef. According to Parker, “60% of our ingredients are from local farmers and we reduce waste by 25% through better inventory management and recycling programs.”
