SHERBURNE — The Friends of Rogers Environmental Education Center, located at 2721 State Route 80 in Sherburne, is offering the opportunity to become a part of the nature center's history with their "Leave a Legacy" brick campaign.
"It’s like a brief moment in time where we have this opportunity to cement a relationship, celebrate a loved one, honor someone who has passed. It’s available now and not available forever. We are going through this renovation to the Visitors Center, and because we’re going through this renovation, it opens up the opportunity to do this," said Friends of Rogers Executive Director David Carson. "Rogers Center has been here since 1909. We are hopeful that it will persist for hundreds of years moving forward. This is an opportunity for people to leave their legacy at Rogers Center."
Individuals can purchase red concrete bricks engraved with a personalized message and art or logos in three different sizes: 4 by 8 inches, 8 by 8 inches, or 12 by 12 inches. The bricks will be placed along either side of the main walkway into the Rogers Visitors Center.
"As you’re walking into the center, you’ll have a row of bricks on your left, and a row of bricks on your right," said Carson. "So everyone who walks into the Visitors Center, from the time that this is completed for perpetuity, will see these bricks upon entering. It’s kind of like the premiere place to cement your legacy."
