CHENANGO COUNTY – All nine Chenango County locations recently subjected to a New York State Police underage drinking initiative were found to be in compliance with state and federal drinking age laws.

State Troopers say none of the targeted Chenango County locations sold alcohol to their underage operative. The measure assessed ten locations in Chenango and Otsego counties.

Specified locations include Byrne Dairy in Norwich, Denny’s Wines and Liquors in Norwich, Stewart’s Shop in Oxford, Mirabito in Oxford, Ye Olde Shanty in Oxford, Greene Spirits Liquor Store in Greene, Mirabito in Greene, Sunoco in Greene, and the Smithville General Store in Smithville Flatts.

The initiative also targeted Mirabito in Morris in Otsego County.

During these investigations, businesses are checked utilizing a Trooper in plain clothes and one or several underage operatives who cannot lie about their age or provide a false date of birth.
