SHERBURNE – Friends of Rogers’ annual paddle trip takes place 8:45 a.m. to 2 p.m. this Saturday, July 13.

This year’s destination is Nine Mile Swamp, a historic local site and hideout of the Loomis Gang, notorious horse thieves in the mid-19th century. It is also known for its natural beauty.

Located near Hubbardsville, this easy-going paddle is perfect for beginners and experienced paddlers alike.

Anyone under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Pricing is as follows: Bring your own boat: $15/member; $20/general admission. Borrow a FOR kayak: $25/member; $30/general admission. Borrow a FOR canoe: $30/member; $35/general admission

Friends of Rogers Environmental Education Center, Inc. is a nonprofit organization that offers environmental education programs for people of all ages and abilities. The Visitor Center is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday and 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, other times by appointment.

The mission of the Friends of Rogers is to provide outstanding educational opportunities that excite, inspire, and motivate people of all ages to enjoy, understand, appreciate, and protect our natural environment.
