CHENANGO COUNTY – The Tri-County Horseshoe League began the second half of the season on Thursday, July 4 with Octagon still on top and ahead of once previous leader Betty’s Boys II. Octagon holds a 22-game lead over Betty’s Boys II after week 12.
Octagon is currently 151-25 while Betty’s Boys II is in second with a record of 129-47. Pond Crew is slowly creeping up with 114 wins in third place as Riverside and Betty’s Boys round out the top five. The top four teams are all over 100 wins while Betty’s Boys is catching up with 87.
After taking care of Betty’s Boys II in week 11, Octagon defeated Bowlodrome 14-2 while Betty’s Boys II got the win over Chuggers by a score of 12-4. Dam Team, who sits in seventh place, had a bye week as Ticknors, in sixth, earned the 13-3 win over Seebers, who hold the final spot in the standings.
Riverside held on to a tight 9-7 win over Betty’s Boys while Pond Crew stayed hot with a 12-4 victory over Hilltop to close out the week.
The Tri-County Horseshoe League meets every Thursday night until the season concludes on September 12.
