6 On The Square Continues Free July Concerts With Porch Party Mamas
Published: July 12th, 2024

OXFORD - 6 On The Square continues its free Sunday concerts in Oxford’s Lafayette Park with Porch Party Mamas at 2 p.m. July 14.

Inspired by playing and singing each other’s songs at their own "porch parties," these Boston area musicians and singer/songwriters decided to combine their individual talents and create their own brand of urban folk, country and blues. Among them, they have shared the stage with a distinguished litany of artists, including Willie Nelson, the Indigo Girls and Lyle Lovett.

The Porch Party Mamas have developed a unique blend of folk, country, Celtic and blues repertoires. They play beautiful arrangements of lovely and whimsical songs featuring dynamic lead vocals and lush harmonies backed by guitar, fiddle, accordion, piano, percussion, banjo and bass.

Coming up in the concert series are Big Sky Quartet (July 21) and Sara Milonovich & Daisycutter (July 28).

Bring your own chair or blanket. In case of inclement weather, the concerts will move inside 6OTS.

The free concerts are generously sponsored by the Robert C. Smith Foundation and Pete Perkins. 6OTS is funded by Earlville Opera House's Arts in the Community Grants Program, made possible by the New York State Senate with support of the Office of Gov. Kathy Hochul, and administered by the New York State Council on the Arts.
