PLYMOUTH – Lavender permeates the air on Pike Hill Road as Little Farmhouse Lavender Owners Sally and John O’Malley cut and bundle their crop in preparation of the big event.
Chenango County residents Sally and John O’Malley invite all to their free inaugural lavender festival from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., July 20, located at 368 Pike Hill Road in Plymouth.
“We’re looking forward to the festival and hope we can bring something fun and enjoyable to the community,” Sally said.
“We’ll have pre-picked bundles of lavender for those that don’t want to pick and scissors and rubber bands available to pick your own,” she said.
“Prepicked is $10 a bundle and u-pick is $8 a bundle,” John said. “If someone cuts a plant the wrong way, it won’t kill it but we make sure the plant will survive, they’re mature enough now and a pretty good size.”
In addition, the O’Malley’s will be selling all things lavender including lotions, cream, soaps, candles, sachets, culinary lavender, plants, magnetic holders and honey.
Sally said Connect Four and Corn Hole will be amongst a few other lawn games and about 15 local vendors will provide their products for sale.
Some of the vendors include G&G Soy, Nor-Wood works, Winding Acres Soapery, SN Designs, Whistling Dixie Maple, The Terracotta House and Family Creations.
