SHERBURNE – Any day you learn something new is a good day, so learning three new things has got to be awesome. This month’s Three Things Thursday lecture takes place Thursday, July 18 from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Rogers Center and features Molly Jacobson, a pollinator ecologist at SUNY ESF’s Restoration Science Center in Syracuse.

Jacobson said, “We have so many unique and fascinating native bees here in New York, from the colorful parasitic cuckoo bees to the pollen specialists that are often rare and poorly known to science. When we plant flowers for pollinators, they usually attract the same handful of common faces. But we can support a surprising variety of these unusual bees in our yards too - the species that may need our help the most - by choosing wisely what we plant. Come join us to learn how to transform your yard into the habitat New York's native bees need to thrive.”

Molly’s love and enthusiasm for her topic are contagious. Whether you are a gardener, a botanist, or an insect enthusiast, you won’t want to miss this program.
