NORWICH – After a hard loss to Oxford in the previous game, the Norwich PONY League team bounced back with a big 15-2 win over Whitney Point. With this victory, Norwich swept the two-game set against the Eagles. Norwich improved to 4-3 on the summer with the season winding down.

Whitney Point took a brief 1-0 lead in the first inning off a bases-loaded walk. Norwich answered back in the bottom half of the inning to tie it up before going on a hot streak in the final four innings. Blayne Sutton tied the game at one with an RBI single. Sutton, Bray Lawrence, Brooks Boland, and Pierce Sherman would each have a great day at the plate for Norwich.

Norwich scored six runs on four hits in the bottom of the second inning to make it a 7-1 ballgame. Brooks Boland’s two-run single was the highlight of the inning after he had a great game against Oxford the night before. Boland would bring in two more runs in the bottom of the fifth inning to lead the team with four RBIs. Sutton had another RBI single in the bottom of the third as Pierce Sherman led the team with three hits and three stolen bases.
