OXFORD – 6 On The Square concludes its free Sunday concerts in Oxford’s Lafayette Park with Sara Milonovich and Daisycutter at 2 p.m., July 28.
Milonovich, an upstate New York singer-songwriter and fiddler, started on violin at age 4, and by 9 she was leading her own band and enjoying a rising regional reputation as a top-flight fiddler.
At 16, Milonovich dropped out of school and joined upstate Celtic bluegrass band The McKrells, recording two albums with the group and touring the U.S. and Ireland. Between accompanying other mentors — including folk legend Pete Seeger — she made her solo debut with 2009’s “Daisycutter,” an album whose moniker became that of her band. Her latest record, “Northeast,” was released in 2021.
Bring your own chair or blanket. In case of inclement weather, the concert will move inside 6OTS.
The free concerts are generously sponsored by the Robert C. Smith Foundation and Pete Perkins. 6OTS is funded by Earlville Opera House's Arts in the Community Grants Program, made possible by the New York State Senate with support of the Office of Gov. Kathy Hochul, and administered by the New York State Council on the Arts.
